DAY 1 : Guwahati Airport / Railway Station – Shillong (100 km / 3 hrs)

Our representative will welcome you when you arrive at Guwahati Airport or Railway station. From there, start your drive towards Shillong, the ‘Scotland of the East,’ situated at 4,900 feet, with beautiful and mesmerizing scenery and comparatively colder weather. On the way, visit the beautiful Umium Lake, a serene lake with a background complimented by hills of green trees. This artificial lake provides the best scenery and is perfect for taking a small nap for whoever is on the journey to Shillong. When you get to Shillong, you will be taken to your hotel, where you can complete the check-in formalities. The rest of the day is at your leisure to relax or continue with any other tours and activities of your choice. Shillong in the evening is equally picturesque, so you may take a walk around the city’s beautiful streets or stay in your hotel and admire Meghalaya’s beautiful structure and calm weather. DAY 2 : Excursion to Cherrapunjee (60 kms / 2 hrs)

Following an early breakfast, leave for Cherrapunjee, famous for being the wettest place, located at a height of 4400ft. The journey contains panoramic views of mesmerizing mists, hills, and greenery all around. The first place you will visit is Nohkalikai Falls, one of India’s highest waterfalls. The water starts from a high altitude and provides an excellent view to the visitors. It is also ideal for photography and enjoying the natural views that surround the area. Later, visit the Mawsmai Caves, a group of limestone caves possessing a complex network of chambers adorned with sparkles of calcite formations. Exploring caves will help tourists understand what natural resources the region can offer. In addition, such caves will be attractive to adrenaline lovers. While returning to Shillong, halt at delicious Elephanta Falls, a beautiful artificially created waterfall nestled in greenery. Carry on to the Shillong Peak tal, the highest in the region – for a spectacular view of the city, the Khasi hills, and the distant Himalayas. After sightseeing, return to your hotel in Shillong and spend some leisure time. Overnight stay in Shillong.

DAY 3 : Sightseeing in Shillong and Transfer to Guwahati (100 km / 3 hrs)

In the morning, have breakfast, check out of your booked hotel, and then go sightseeing in Shillong. First, you can go through the Don Bosco Museum, a type of cultural museum, where there are demonstrations of the cultures of Northeast India. This is followed by a stroll at the Ward’s Lake, an artificial lake with beautiful gardens nicely maintained. There is also boating for those who want to spend time in a quiet environment. Once done with the sightseeing, undertake your journey towards Guwahati, the largest city of Assam, and the entrance to the seven sisters of North East India. It is scenic throughout, with nice views of the slopes and the vegetation in these regions. Upon arrival, go to the hotel and check-in. For an independent activity in the evening, you can take a Golden Sunset Cruise on the Brahmaputra River and watch the beautiful colors of sunset on the water. Overnight stay in Guwahati.

DAY 4 : Sightseeing in Guwahati

After breakfast, get ready and visit Guwahati’s main religious and cultural points of interest. Start with a visit to the Kamakhya Temple, one of the country’s wholesomely celebrated Shakti Piths, dedicated to the goddess Kamakhya. The temple stands on Nilachal Hill, which provides a bird’s eye view of the city. Next, visit Tirupati Balaji Temple, a well-sculpted temple that is a quiet place to pray. Proceed to Nabagraha Temple, which dates back a considerable period and is destined for nine planets. Subsequently, go to the Assam State Museum, which remains closed on Mondays. This museum has a large assortment of historical places depicting the Assamese culture and tradition. Next, go to the State Zoo cum Botanical Garden where there are different species of plants and animals, and it is good for a relaxing nature walk. Next, proceed to the Regional Science Centre, which demonstrates scientific facts and has many things to touch, see, and even command. DAY 5 : Departure from Guwahati

After breakfast, you would have to proceed for local sightseeing, and before moving for local sightseeing, it is better to check out from the hotel. Depending on the timing of your next train or flight, you can return to the Kamakhya Temple or any tourist places you have not explored.
